Our buddies at VICE Japan launched their YouTube channel last year and the videos have been amazing. A few weeks ago we featured Alone in the Zone, a doc about a guy who refuses to leave his farm near the Fukushima nuclear power plant. If you like animals and/or humanity in general, you’ll love it. Here’s an episode of their tattooing show, Life with Shisei, about Horiyoshi III, one of Japan’s most beloved and enigmatic tattoo artists. He specializes in full-body tattoos called irezumi, often says bizarre stuff, and has a weird history with the Yakuza. Enjoy!
