Apparently there’s some big party going on in China today because the date is August 8, 2008 – all the eights, see. But tonight down at Jacks in London Bridge there’s an even better number-themed party called Nitefreq, and it’s all about the little silver machine
that revolutionised dance music and put a lot of already-unemployable
guys out of work – the Roland TR 808 drum machine! (See what they’ve

dance to…

808 State (obviously), I-F, Arthur Baker and DMX Krew are
all playing – and tickets are £12 advance or £15 on the door. Luckily,
