Today on VBS we have the final installment from our long drawn-out hang with the reporters of El Nuevo Alarma!, Mexico City’s finest gore-tabloid. As a beginning-of-the-week supplement, we’re happy to bring you a pdf copy of the venerable rag’s most recent issue (right-click for download). True, it may be a tad harsh for a Monday morning, but as they say in Mexico “There’s never a wrong time for a picture of a corpse charred beyond recognition that’s also missing some limbs.” (PS: If you really want to barf up your hangover, head straight to page 39.)

The issue on whole paints a pretty dismal picture of the situation with the drug cartels in Mexico (especially the “500 killings in the last month” part), but at least the Narcos still have a sense of humor.
