We’ve teamed up with legendary photographer Nan Goldin to launch a competition aimed at raising awareness about the oppression of women around the world. For those of you who don’t know, Nan basically invented the snapshot aesthetic that pervades a lot of documentary photography you see today. Many of her fêted photos took an unflinching look at gender issues, so we feel honoured having her as a judge.
Go here to submit a photo that touches on matters relating to gender, power and poverty. Then select one of our all-star mentors who you would like to work with. The five winning entrants will get their work published in Vice and Ctrl.Alt.Shift magazine, and exhibited at a major gallery in London. The overall winner will get £1000 plus a brand new digital SLR. Get involved!
