CCCC (almost always written in Cyrillic) stands for Само слога Србина спасава, or, in the Latin alphabet, SSSS for Samo sloga Srbina spasava–“Only Unity can Save Serbia.” It’s one of the most common political slogans used by Serbian nationalists and skinheads–kind of their “14 words” or whatever. So this picture our layout guy Alen sent us would be a total yawner if he had taken it in the back alleys of Belgrade, rather than in Wolsely, Winnipeg’s hippie enclave.
