In the 8th grade my best friend K and I walked a mile and a town over to buy thongs at Mandee. I got a sky blue glittery one with a butterfly on it and another that snapped off at the sides and had a heart-shaped window that doubled as a condom pocket. We bought the thongs to wear on our double dates with our AOL boyfriends. We were hoping to get felt up for the first time.

Good thing I grew out of that phase and became a high school coffee house literary magazine deviant. On the last Friday of every month I lounged on the cafeteria floor with the PFlag / Safe Zone club while we watched our friends cover some Ani DiFranco and petted each other. It was the ultimate pent-up erotic tension.

Reed College Erotic Review #3 is the paramount of erotic release. This literary zine is our contemporary queer alt crew of freaks’ naughty poetry and even kinkier word play. Just imagine now, Ani DiFranco tying the stem of a cherry in a knot with her tongue, meow.
