It seems like it was just yesterday when you couldn’t walk in to a Sam Goody without hearing the latest Mudhoney or Nirvana single, which wasn’t so bad. Everyone thought angry/despondent men replete in flannel and guitars would last forever. And yet the biggest hit right now isn’t about angst or depression or some kid shooting himself in front of his class.
