Eugene Robinson is an old friend of ours who has written stuff for us on topics including getting beaten up, steroid addled gym monkeys and taking drugs in the workplace. As well as being a journalist, Eugene is a noted pugilist, musician (that’s him up there playing with his band Oxbow), raconteur and now novelist. You can come and see Eugene read from his debut work of fiction, A Long Slow Screw, tomorrow at The Old Blue Last. The book is, broadly speaking, a crime novel set in 1970s New York and involves a diamond heist, lots of bad people and, unsuprisingly all things considered, lots and lots of fighting.
