Man, everything about this dunk is sensational. The clip features three distinct plays from the Iowa Energy, a Memphis Grizzlies affiliate in the D-League, and they are ambitious as hell out there in Iowa. Andrew Harrison gets things going with a behind the back bounce pass through the lane that split two defenders to get to James Ennis for what you would ordinarily assume to be a layup. But no, Ennis then tossed up a lob in front of the rim and D.J. Stephens came screaming into the frame to finish off one of the nastiest alley-oops since DeAndre Jordan ended Brandon Knight’s life. Even the broadcasters’ reactions are perfect.
Stephens threw it down with a great individual effort—the Fort Wayne defender wanted not a single part of getting in his way—but he knows where his bread is buttered, too, and gave props to his teammates for a job incredibly well done.
