After releasing ‘On and On’ on Bad Life late last year, London based producer Astro Zu has been aligned with the school of thought often paired with Flying Lotus, and the wider Brainfeeder aesthetic of downtempo hip hop, due to his whimsical electronica stylings. His latest effort “Lonesome,” which THUMP is pleased to bring you the exclusive premiere of, sees him push forward in this vein; a dreamy, soulful effort that although indebted to such Fly-Lo motifs, feels fuller, looser and more arrestingly melodic than much else of its ilk.
