Fresh off of releasing a remix of the Twin Peaks theme music yesterday, Los Angeles beatmaker Flying Lotus last night shared a ethereal new track called “Night Grows Pale.” The song samples British rock band Queen’s 1974 song “White Queen (As It Began),” transforming a snippet from that baroque rock track into a swirlingly psychedelic, laid back jam.
The song combines pairs spiritual jazz flourishes with spacey funk melodies, and FlyLo has fittingly used a photo of Freddie Mercury for the song’s artwork. Best of all, he’s made it available for free download on SoundCloud.
