The term “childlike imagination” usually conjurs adorable images of children battling pirates or exploring invented landscapes, but illustrator Jimmy D’Amico, aka Futurehaircut, reminds us that kids can also be gross and whimsical. His grotesque take on the animal kingdom is childlike in scope and imagination. “Much of my imagery is an exploration of duality,” he writes on his website. “By combining monsters, aliens, and animals, as well as being influenced by punk music and dark movies, I aim to merge images that are gross and crude with something simple and childlike.”
