The surrealist video for James Blake’s new single, “Retrograde” features burning things and floating people and James crooning in front of the camera. A new album comes out in April, the first new one by the electro-soul wunderkind since 2011’s self-titled. Expect him to sidestep dubstep controversies with more grown-up smoothness than before, fewer James-Taylor-at-the-Inauguration glitches, and the same amount of brooding, synthesized feels.
