Listening to music is one of the best things you can do. In fact, we love listening to music so much that we run a website that’s all about music (it’s called Noisey, duh). Today, Jay Z is launching his streaming music service called Tidal, which is already being called a rival to Spotify. The goal of it is to provide high-fidelity listening—but unlike Spotify’s current incarnation, there is no free version; there is only a $19.95 monthly subscription. To raise awareness, today famous musicians—Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Jack White, and Madonna to name a few—all tweeted their support of the product. We’re still not sure what the details are exactly, but Jay Z will be addressing the press today at 5 PM. We have the embed below.
