Knicks-Lakers Bumped from ESPN for Celebrity Bowling

This is what’s currently airing on ESPN: a Chris Paul celebrity bowling tournament. Originally, ESPN was scheduled to broadcast the Knicks and Lakers game. Knicks head coach Derek Fisher was going head-to-head with the team he had, like, sixteen different stints with, and it’s smack dab in the middle of Super Bowl Sunday. So, you know it’s a big game. ESPN passed on the game last week, the seventh time it has taken a Knicks game off ESPN/ABC air this season.

Terrell Owens is there bowling, as is Nick Cannon and some other people ESPN figures are more entertaining than the broke-ass Knicks playing the budget-ass Lakers. It’s curious, though, with so many networks offering pseudo-related programming or straight up counter-programming options on this near national holiday. We’ve got stalwarts like the Puppy Bowl and Kitten Bowl. AMC is showing a marathon of The Walking Dead, SyFy is showing various natural disaster films, and ABC Family has a Back to the Future marathon scheduled. Knicks-Lakers is a perfect fit today.
