Texas soul upstart Leon Bridges is having a good year. His debut album Coming Home got a warm critical reception, and he just guested on the new actually-not-terrible Macklemore single “Kevin.” Last night he dropped in on Saturday Night Live to perform two Coming Home highlights, the appropriately titled “Smooth Sailin’” and album closer “River.” Bridges is a talented writer and singer, and it’s exciting to watch as his profile expands.
