After the horrific attack on the Westgate in Nairobi, Kenya, all eyes are on Eastleigh or “Little Mogadishu” – a neighborhood known for being the home to many Somali immigrants in Kenya, as well as a recruiting ground for al Shabaab, a jihadist group that has wreaked havoc on Somalia.
Kenyan law enforcement is trying to wipe out al Shabaab’s base of support in Eastleigh, leaving Somali immigrants caught between extremists on one side and an brutal police tactics on the other.
