Guess what city London Fields is in? Yes, correct. It is situated in LDN’s trendy borough of Hackney. I’ve always been pretty mean about it, I put it down and said it was over crowded, full of fixed gear bikes, frisbee gangs, real ale bottles, straw hats and dog shits. But when I saw this sign I realised how wrong I was. It has a bloody nature reserve! I don’t know how I never noticed the reserve before; it must have been obscured by all the bar managers eating caribou sausages with fennel mash and date-raping Australian students. Here is said nature reserve:
You may think that Hackney Council are stretching the definition of a ‘nature reserve’ a bit here, but they aren’t. It was my silly fault, I was too slow with my camera work and missed a pack of hyenas chasing down some springboks towards the Cat And Mutton. There was an elephant wrestling a rhino too, you can just spot it in the background of the photo.
