Imagine an ’80s workout video set in a room full of colorfully-clothed people, with no shortage of neon pink sweatbands and yellow legwarmers. Now imagine that instead of people, it’s hardware, and you’ll begin to get the idea of Pump, a new video by Fabrice Le Nézet. The animated video shows a collection of colorful, abstract objects, none of which are identifiable but all of which look vaguely like gym or playground equipment. The shapes look like a sentient typography for an imaginary alphabet, and as an exuberant beat by Azel Phara plays in the background, they  move up and down, expanding and contracting, “pumping” with the music.
