Hailing from the tip of Australia, rather than everyone’s favourite American art deco city of sin, Melbourne boys Miami Horror are anything but. Though the name suggests skronky, coked-up, blitz-out electrotrash, they actually play the kind of house inflected indietronica that sounds great on balmy days spent daydreaming about the beach.

Having rinsed their latest album, All Possible Futures, we wanted to get to know the band a little more, so we asked them to take a few photos of their life on the road for us. Here’s what they came back with.

When did you realize that being on stage was exactly what you wanted in life?
For Josh and Aaron its always been a very natural thing they get a lot of energy from. I wouldn’t say its exactly what I personally wanted in life but it probably all started for me aged 18 when I snuck backstage during a new years countdown at a massive Australian festival. I ran out on stage in-front of Courtney from the Dandy Warhols as he counted down the final few seconds of the year.

How’d you get really, really relaxed?
Some of us meditate, some of us attempt to mediate. Heading out to Joshua tree in the desert with no phone is a good way to switch off.

What’s the wildest item of clothing you’ve ever splurged on?
That may be the leather jacket I bought in Paris. I set my limit to $500 which would have made it the most expensive item of clothing I’ve ever bought. After trying on roughly 15 variations, I ended up spending way beyond that initial limit…

Do the pair of you spend every waking minute together?
I slept in the bed with Dan once and lets just say he confused me as girlfriend while half asleep, which led to us never sharing the bed again.

What’s on your rider?
Nothing too crazy! Whisky, vodka, Reeses peanut butter cups, a variety of fruit and one blue M&M.
