Frikstailers are bringing a whole new swag to the THUMP-o-sphere. As is readily evident in their swanky new MIXED BY, they come from a Cumbia perspective, but Frikstailers lay on so many layers of disparate influences that their sound is entirely unpredictable and new. It’s like they’re crafting the soundtrack to a daytime rager somewhere in the hidden tropics of the moon.
The Mexico D.F-via-Buenos Aires duo are often clad in ridiculous neon get-ups, but these two have a whole lot more than gimmickry going on. Reports from their remarkable Boiler Room London and Mutek Mexico performances mention that the duo appropriate video game interfaces as instruments. Wowzers.
