Lean Back Into No Rent’s Laidback Trap of “For My City”

For an Iranian artist who hails from Edinburgh, Scotland, 22-year-old No Rent sounds nothing like his cultural heritage would suggest. Instead, he’s far more indebted to the transatlantic sound of someone like Post Malone or The Weeknd.

As the self-proclaimed “Kurt Cobain of trap music”, No Rent says he’s “less about technicality, more about raw emotion”. Today we’re premiering his latest track “For My City”, which is a sparse, almost seductive number over trap style percussion.
