There’s a rule in the blogging biz that says when a sportsman gives a quote like “When we played UTC the other week their centre pretty much ripped my dick off,” you’ve got to write a blog about it. When that sportsman’s name is “Haydn Peacock,” you’ve got to write a blog about it post haste. So: welcome to that blog post.

Haydn Peacock is an Australian (naturally) rugby league player, playing in France for AS Carcassonne. Last month, while playing in French Federation of Rugby League Elite 1 match against UTC, Peacock suffered a grisly injury and required 11 stitches to repair his penis.

In an interview with French Footy, Peacock explains how an opposing player almost ripped his dick off:

“I took the ball off the scrum and made a half break, and their centre has come across from the inside and reached out in a last ditch effort and has got a hold of my dick with one hand and pulled me down. There’s a photo of me screaming in pain, and I finished out the half. The pain was all right and then at half-time I was like, I’ve got to have a look. I checked on it and the skin is half ripped off and I was like, ‘Shit, where’s the doctor? Where’s the doctor?’

The photo he references is above, which Peacock shared to his Instagram page with the caption: “Not the best reason to be on the front page of the paper this morning. #rugbyleague is definitely not a sport I recommend. 11 stitches later for the little fella but she’ll be right.”

Peacock says he was taken to the clinic after the game where he got the stitches, which have since been removed. Peacock did manage to return to play for the next game, despite the injury. He played without a cup, despite his coaches’ wishes, and just strapped that bad boy up nice and tight.
