Your earphones can now take you 10,000 miles away – Spotify has revealed their first musical map of the globe. Have you ever wondered what the music lovers of Spain, Mexico, or Malaysia are rocking out to? Wonder no more: Spotify’s musical map allows subscribers to click on over 1,000 cities of the world, unveiling a playlist of the most popular songs in that particular part of the planet. “We update each of these distinctive city playlists twice per month,” Spotify Insights explains. “Each update involves analyzing approximately 20 billion listener/track relationships.” In addition, Spotify also enables you to broaden your musical horizons by allowing its users to add any of the tracks from these international playlists to your own account.
