London producer, Touchy Subject, has shared his neurotically funky remix of Fly High Society affiliate Tehbis‘ track “Bristol Way,” to be released on London-based collective and label Medallion Sounds‘ forthcoming first compilation. The track begins in a deep stride, pairing skittering, UK garage-esque elements with disassembled soul before recalibrating itself at half tempo, letting the groove ring out with less fortified rhythmic support.

“I knew the original track before I knew Tehbis which was a favourite of mine and was nice to get to do a remix of it once I got know the man behind the track. It meant it gave me a bit more freedom when coming to getting my chops round the remix. His bass line he played in it is great, keeps the track going throughout. I’ve taken it in a different direction, but it still has the core elements and switches to more of a Touchy Subject vibe half way through.”

Medallion Sounds – Compilation Vol.1 will be out August 5, and follows its inaugural release, the Ded Line EP by Touchy Subject. The label has also shared a video teasing the compilation in full, streaming below.
