Trash Talk‘s Los Angeles doesn’t look like anyone else’s Los Angeles. Yeah, their favorite tattoo artist is an animator for a Nickelodeon show, and yes, their skyline is the same skyline. But in Trash Talk’s Los Angeles, everyone’s skating and stage-diving instead of drinking smoothies and driving expensive cars. In a new mini-documentary, “Tough as Leather,” the band takes viewers behind the scenes to their practice space/creative compoud, and singer Lee Spielman talks about breaking his kneecaps in Japan, hanging with a restlessly creative crew, and keeping the same mindset of the band that used to play house shows for an audience of one person. The takeaway: Trash Talk are really fucking cool, and their LA sounds way better than this Hollywood place we keep hearing about on TV. Check out the full video segment below:
