The Dreamtime story of the Rainbow Serpent has been passed on, verbally, by countless generations of indigenous Australians, and is seen painted on rock art dating back more than 8000 years.
It tells the story of a giant, mythical snake which pushed through Earth’s crust and, with the movement of its body, left deep tracks in the ground; creating rivers, mountains, gullies.
