Voormalig Test Icicles lid Lightspeed Champion heeft een nieuw album uit. Het heet I Wrote and Recorded This In Less Than Five Hours en hij heeft het op een loze ochtend in zijn flatje opgenomen, in minder dan vijf uur, inderdaad. Behalve productief is hij ook zo aardig om het voor jou online te zetten zodat je het kan downloaden en zeggen wat je ervan vindt. Onze Britse collega’s stelden hem ook nog wat vraagjes, die kan je hieronder in de oorspronkelijke taal lezen. Maar je Engels is goed genoeg toch?

Do it! As long as you state i wrote and recorded it in less than five hours, and my actual album sounds nothing like this.

I like it. So, what prompted this flurry of creativity?

Lightspeed Champion:
I went to The V Festival by myself this weekend.

VICE:
How was that?

Lightspeed Champion:
Amazing.
Completely amazing.

VICE:
In what way?

Lightspeed Champion:
Just pure music! No one trying to be cool or see how many pills they can take. I made schedules and made sure i saw as many bands as possible. At one point I hit musical ecstasy, which is why i had to write and record an album when i got back … like a musical come down!

VICE:
Which one is the single?

Lightspeed Champion:
“This Is One Day – Record 2.” All the songs are called that with a number different at the end.
