Grolsch Studios is a way for VICE and Grolsch to help artists make creative ideas real. Anyone can submit an idea (more chances are coming up later this year), and when a bunch of them have been submitted we give a chosen artist a mentor who supervises the project. Jeanette Steinsland was the mentor in the first round. She liked the idea of Richard Holland’s skateable sculpture For Forest Sake.
Last week, For Forest Sake was exposed to another environment (literally) than the forest that it usually sees in Floda, Umeå. We moved the piece from the north of Sweden and exhibited it in Stockholm. Tussilago and Gaél Kinsungila played live, and HNNY spun records as people were guzzling down beer in Brunogallerian. Above are some photos, and more can be found here.
